THUMP 'Em Up! - Walleye Worms

Lance Valentines's Signature Series THUMP 'Em Up!

Walleye worms designed specifically for the difficult conditions anglers face on the Detroit River.  This next generation of worm is a significant improvement over the well know "Wyandotte Worm".  THUMP 'Em Up! worms are designed to perform better in current, hold up bettter on your jig, and are scented to attract neutral feeding walleye.  These are the same 5" worms Lance Valentine uses on his Detroit River charter trips out of Wyandotte, Michigan.  25 worms per pack.

Are You Serious When You Say "No Live Minnows"?

Absolutely!  I never bought live bait during the 2009 Detroit River jigging season.  THUMP! worms, Bio Baits, and Wyandotte Worms will catch as many fish, and in some cases more fish, than live bait.  Here are the primary reasons:

  • The current is moving very quickly - walleye have a extremely small window to strike.  They can't check out a bait for long.
  • You need to be fishing 100% of the time.  Every bring up your jig with a live minnnow and there is no bait?  How long were you washing that jig?
  • Size of offering.  A 4" Bio Bait is the same size every time.   It's a big, high profile bait that fish find hard to resist.

Make sure you add a removable stinger hook to your jig and plastic combination.  The stinger will pin the bait to the jig and you won't miss any short strikes that are so common in the spring.  Give it a try and you may never buy another minnow!
