Lake Erie Metro Park boat ramp is located where the Detroit River enters Lake Erie. Great launch site with 12 lane ramp and lots of parking. Facilites include restrooms, fishing along a seawall, and a small picnic area. Hours are 6AM-10PM. The ramp moves pretty quickly in the morning but can become backed up in the afternoon as people are taking their boats out. Caution: the channel to the lake is extrememly shallow. Do not get outside the channel markers and be careful opening up the throttle before you hit the first dropoff to deeper water. The area to the right (south) is also very shallow once you hit Lake Erie. About a 10 minute trip to Lake Erie at minimum wake.
Fees: Launch fee is $4.00 for boat and you will need to pay $4.00 for your car too. If you buy a season pass it will cost $20 for your car and $24 for your boat. Passes are good for a full calendar year.
Directions: Easy to find. From I75 take exit #29 (Gibralter Rd) and go east until you hit Jefferson Avenue (about 2.0 miles). Turn right (south) on Jefferson and the park entrance will be on your left side about 1.7 miles down Jefferson. The ramp is near the back of the park to the left once you pass through the toll booth.
