Walleye 101 is heading to Houghton Lake to test our inland lake walleye knowledge. Anglers will jig the weeds, float leaches under slip bobbers, drift spinners, and maybe even search for open water walleyes with cranks and planer boards. Likely locations include Long Point, The Middle Grounds, South Shore Weed Bed, and East Bay. Houghton may not give up many "trophy" walleye but the high population of 13-17" fish will give you lots of opportunity to test different techniques. Here are some of the highlights of the Houghton Lake trip:
- Dates - Thursday June 7th - Sunday June 10th 2012
- Three Nights Lodging at DNR MacMullen Education Center
- Three Breakfasts at the lodge - Friday, Saturday, Sunday morning
- Two Dinners at the lodge - Friday and Saturday night
- Three Days of Fishing & Sharing Information on the Water
- Boat Launch and Fish Cleaning Facilities
- Waypoint Lists and Nighly Seminars to Discuss the Days Fishing
- Walleye 101 Shirt and Group Photos
- Walleye 101 "Goodie Bag"
- Cost $325 per person if paid in full by April 30th ($350 after April 30th)
Walleye 101 Trophy Hunts take place in a family friendly environment - you are welcome to bring your wife, kids, relatives, fishing buddies, and co-workers.
