Walleye fishing tournaments on the Detroit River provide a great opportunity to test your skill against other anglers. Local clubs, charities, and professional walleye circuits all hold events on the Detroit River during April and May. Sign up to fish in one of the events or just stop by for the weigh-in to see where the hot action took place.

MWT (Michigan Walleye Tour) - April 9-10, 2011
Downriver Area - TBD Boat Ramp
The MWT is the biggest local walleye tournament circuit in Michigan. The MWT holds a series of "qualifier" tournaments leading up to their state championship. This Detroit River tournament is a two day event and is "RIver Only". This circuit draws some of the best walleye anglers in Michigan and it's early April date will guarantee some monster fish. You can test your skills against other top angler for a reasonable entry fee.

MWC (Masters Walleye Circuit) - April 16-17, 2011
Trenton, Michigan - Elizabeth Park Boat Ramp
The MWC is one of the premier big money walleye tournament circuits. The "East Division" will hold a two day event out of Trenton, Michigan where anglers will fish both the Detroit River and Lake Erie. This circuit draws competitors fro across the nation and usually produces some monster baskets of fish. If you are looking to test your skills against the best then this tournament is for you!

River of Fire Walleye Tournament - April 30, 2011
Ecorse Michigan - Ecorse Boat Ramp
The River of Fire Walleye Fishing Tournament is organized by the Ecorse Fire Fighters Association. This fun event includes cash prizes for the top three teams, 50/50 raffle, a fish fry after the event and lots more. Get out and test your skill against local Detroit River anglers!

Cost: $100 (2 man boat). 3rd man additional $50
Prizes: $1,000 First Place (based on 50 boats). Prizes for 2nd & 3rd place.

Downriver Walleye Federation (DWF)
Trenton, Michigan - Monthly Tournaments
The Downriver Walleye Federation (DWF) holds a series of Detroit River weekend tournaments for club members and guests. The tournaments start April and run through June. This is a great opportunity to participate in a local fishing club and meet new fishing partners.
