A Letter From John
Hi Duncan. Well, it’s been a little over a week since the big ’’educational fishing trip’’ and the boys and I are still talking about it so I thought I’d send you a little note to let you know how much we appreciated your time, expertise and best of all, your company.
First of all , I should tell you that this is the best trip that we’ve ever taken-bar none! We’ve been on a half of dozen trout/salmon charters, three prior walleye charters, a catfish charter and also a couple of perch outings. Other than the walleye and perch trips, we’ve caught lots of fish but our trip with you was really something special that went way beyond any charter experience that we’ve had up to this time. Prior to this trip the charter captain really did the fishing and we were allowed to reel in a fish once they were caught.
Our experience with you however was totally different! You shared with us the what, why and how and would show us once, and then you let us do the fishing!!! I also appreciated that you were first concerned about meeting our interest in learning several different techniques and that ’’limiting out’’ did not seem to get in the way of your teaching us the ropes. Obviously, you had ideas of where to go and what might work given the conditions, but even here, you included us in a discussion of the possibilities and allowed us to participate in a discussion of the possibilities and allowed us to participate in the decisions process.
Second, we learned a ton about the wily walleye! As we new to open water fishing and also are currently fixing up and rigging our own boat, we now have much better appreciation for what might like to include and also the priorities of which to acquire first, etc.
Finally, I should tell you that perhaps the best part of the trip was meeting and getting to know you a bit. It is obvious that you, not only love fishing, but that you really interested in your customers and helping them become better fishermen. Learning about walleye fishing and actually catching walleye was great fun, but the tone that you set made the trip that much more special. Thank you.
As an update, I should tell you that this past weekend my four brother-in-laws and I got together for our annual fishing weekend on Big Star Lake. It’s not really known as a great fishery, but putting to use some of your teachings paid off and the biggest fish was a 24 inch 3pound 10 ounce walleye! Let me tell you, that sure turned some heads!
Anyway, thanks again for a truly great experience. I hope that we will be able to do a ’’refresher’’ some time in the future. If there is ever anything that we can do to help spread the word about the unique experience that you offer, please do not hesitate to let us know.
